EAST COAST TO WEST COAST

This trip would take us from Suffolk to Northumberland then across to Oban then up to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula being the most westerly part of Scotland.

In Northumberland we stayed at Beadnell Bay with its stunning wide golden beach. The drive to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is several hours so we camped for the night about half way. Our Oz tent is great for travelling as it packs up in about 5 minutes, although it takes sometime to get the rest of the camping stuff and the children into the back of the Land Rover.

On the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in Scotland the roads are single track and if you meet someone coming in the opposite direction then the person nearest the passing place usually gives way. Driving several miles in this way does take some time. The weather is unpredictable but on the sunny days the sea is blue and the sand is white and it is at these times that we knew why we had ventured to this amazing place.

It is possible to explore the Islands in the Hebrides and travel to the Islands is by Ferry. The Island of Mull is just one Island which is easily accessible from the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
